E-commerce Platform Rebuild for Fashion Retailer

A fast-growing fashion retailer with $850M in annual online sales was experiencing major performance issues. Their custom-built PHP platform couldn't scale during peak shopping seasons, resulting in 40% cart abandonment and frequent downtime. Edvirra rebuilt the entire platform from scratch.

E-commerce Platform Rebuild

We started by analyzing their traffic patterns and identified that 65% of traffic came from mobile devices, but the existing site wasn't optimized for mobile. The checkout process had 7 steps and took an average of 4 minutes to complete. Our team proposed a complete rebuild using Next.js for the frontend, Node.js for APIs, and headless commerce architecture.

The new platform was built with performance as the top priority. We implemented server-side rendering for product pages, used CDN for static assets, optimized images with WebP format, and implemented lazy loading. The checkout process was reduced to 3 steps with one-click checkout for returning customers.

We integrated with their existing ERP system, payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal), and shipping providers (FedEx, UPS). The platform also includes advanced features like AI-powered product recommendations, real-time inventory sync, and personalized shopping experiences based on browsing history.

The platform launched in March 2024 after 8 months of development. Results exceeded expectations:

3x faster page load times

28% increase in conversion rate

60% reduction in cart abandonment
